BR1 is adding a Talent Acquisition Specialist to our team. Could this be you?
Employers turn to BR1 to help build stronger teams. We know what it takes to recruit and retain the right people, and how to stretch an entire team's combined potential.
Our Talent Acquisition Specialists help businesses in the Green Industry recruit and retain the right people. Our clients and candidates work primarily in landscaping, lawn care, irrigation, horticulture, arboriculture, and snow and ice management.
We don't recruit the traditional way, and we're not looking for someone who does. We're a highly collaborative, results-focused team committed to delivering an unmatched client and candidate experience. If you come from a traditional recruiting or staffing background, you're welcome here, but only if you're genuinely ready to work differently.
This position is 100% remote.
Responsibilities
- Consistently embrace and demonstrate BR1 core values:
- Accountability
- Continuous Improvement
- Easy to do business with
- Integrity
- Win-Win (1+1=3)
- Deliver an over-the-top excellent client and candidate experience
- Target passive and active candidates to fill positions for multiple clients
- Conduct candidate interviews
- Present qualified candidates to clients
- Coordinate client-candidate interviews and support both during the entire process
- Communicate effectively with clients, acting as primary point of contact
- Maintain updated records in ATS in near real-time
- Other tasks and duties as required to support your team
Your success will be measured by:
- Client experience
- Candidate experience
- Time to fill
- Consistently achieving or exceeding KPIs
Behaviors most likely to lead to success in this role:
- You respond fast and follow up without being chased
- You document as you go, so the ATS reflects reality in near real time
- You hunt for passive talent instead of waiting for applicants
- You treat continuous improvement as part of the job, not a slogan
Skills you'll need to be successful:
- Strong time management: Ability to be productive, efficient and effective without close supervision in a remote work environment
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Comfortable with computers, software, and learning new tools
- ATS utilization and candidate pipeline management
- Working knowledge of LinkedIn and LinkedIn Recruiter, and other recruiting sources
- Strong organizational skills
- Conducting effective interviews to assess candidates' alignment with clients' ideal candidate profile
- Able to build good rapport with clients and candidates
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Able to represent the company in a professional manner to clients and candidates (speaking, writing, character, appearance)
Personality traits most likely to lead to success in this role:
- Engaging and authentic: you bring genuine, grounded energy that earns trust fast, not a polished sales act
- Self-driven and disciplined: you manage yourself, stay organized, and keep momentum without anyone looking over your shoulder
- Tenacious and resilient: silence, ghosting, rejection, and slow feedback doesn't discourage you or cost you momentum
- Conscientious: you naturally care about follow-through, details, documentation, and getting things right
- Curious: you ask better questions, want to understand people and what actually motivates candidates, and keep sharpening your approach
- Perceptive: you read between the lines, understand what clients and candidates actually need, and identify real fit
- Coachable: you take feedback and direction well, embrace the BR1 way, and help shape it as it keeps evolving
Experience
Experience matters for this role, but maybe not the way you'd expect. We can teach recruiting. It's much harder to teach ownership, discipline, curiosity, resilience, follow-through, and genuine care for the people on both sides of a search. So we care less about where you've worked and more about what your background says about how you operate. What helps here (any of these, none required):
- Self-directed work where you owned your time and your results, like remote roles, commission-based roles, or self-employment
- High-touch client, customer, or hospitality work, where anticipating needs and the relationship were the point, not just closing the ticket
- Consultative, relationship-based sales or account management, where you earned trust and guided a decision instead of pushing a one-time transaction
- Communication-heavy work that meant juggling several people, accounts, or priorities at once without dropping any
- Familiarity with the Green Industry or the people who work in it
On recruiting experience: it's welcome but not required, and it's not what we weigh most. If you've never recruited a day in your life but you bring the traits above and you learn fast, you'll fit right here. And if you are a recruiter who's tired of the transactional, churn-and-burn agency grind and you want to do this the relationship-driven way, you may have found your home.
Compensation
We pay a competitive base plus uncapped commission and bonus, so your earnings grow as you deliver for clients and candidates. First-year target earnings are $64,800+, built on that base of $41,600–$46,800.
The benefits start day one, no waiting period:
- Health, dental, optical, and life insurance
- 401(k) with matching
- Paid time off
- Profit sharing (discretionary)
