POSITION SUMMARY The Strategic Sales Manager is responsible for leading and mentoring the strategic sales team to drive business growth by developing and executing strategic sales plans. This role involves collaborating with the Director of Sales and Territory Manager to ensure consistent, profitable revenue growth through positive planning, deployment of initiatives, and management of the sales team. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS Provides input on the development of strategic sales strategies and manages those strategies to achieve corporate objectives for products and services. Lead, mentor, motivate, and assist the sales team with organizational skills, account strategies, planning, and administrative responsibilities to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is achieved and maintained. Manage employee selection, training, compensation, and performance management. · Maintain a positive, proactive work environment. Active participation with finance and strategic team members in price and margin management. Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes, and plans to determine effectiveness and profitability. Summarize key department KPI’s for leadership team. Monitor market trends, competitor products, sales, and marketing activities to identify opportunities and threats. Shares findings with the Director of Sales, Product Manager and Executive Management team. Collaborate with internal teams to develop, ensure alignment, and effectively execute sales strategies to meet changing market and competitive conditions. Provide regular reporting on sales, trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to the Sales Director and the Executive Team. Assist in the development, negotiation, and completion of written agreements, and annual renewals to maximize profit margins. Provide input and feedback on product research and development to the Product Management Department. Foster a spirit of continuous improvement within your department by ensuring Standard Operating Procedures are written for all processes and are reviewed for improvement and streamlining. Ensure metrics are reported, huddles are conducted, and 5S is part of the department’s daily routine and ensure processes are being followed. Provide input on advertising and promotion activities, including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail to the Creative and Marketing team. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting industry partner relationships by understanding their needs for greater market insights. Breeders, Young Plant providers, Pot Manufacturers, importers, etc. Attends relevant trade shows and assists with planning of sales exhibits.
