Our client is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to lead their core accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Budgeting. This critical role requires a true “roll-up-your-sleeves” professional capable of working independently to manage daily financial operations, investigate discrepancies, optimize job costing, and partner with leadership to drive profitability.

Responsibilities
- Drive operational accounting by taking a hands-on approach to managing AR, AP, Payroll, and Budgeting.
- Manage detailed job costing processes tailored to the construction and landscaping trades to ensure accurate margin tracking.
- Handle bank communications, and perform regular, complex account reconciliations.
- Collaborate seamlessly with external accountants and generate comprehensive financial statements.
- Navigate and maintain financial records within QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise while integrating data from specialized software like Aspire and Inova.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an operational accounting role, with a willingness to actively process payroll and AP.
- Must possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently to resolve financial discrepancies.
- Industry experience in construction, landscaping, or the trades is highly valued, particularly with a strong understanding of job costing and operational flow.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is required, with additional experience in Aspire and Nova considered a strong plus.
- Familiarity with standard accounting practices, government contract billing, and financial statement preparation is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage external vendors, banking relationships, and an outsourced accounting team.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 commensurate with experience.
- Bonus Potential: 5-15% discretionary.
