THE OPPORTUNITY
The Head of Sales and Marketing is a leadership role tasked with the management, mentorship, instruction, and training of a team of 12 Business Development Managers. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth through new business development activities. Additionally, this person will manage the sales pipeline, forecast, and reporting, and ensure that the sales activities are aligned with the marketing and product plans.
This role has an opportunity to be a key leader in a well-capitalized, private equity backed company in the early stages of what is expected to be a period of aggressive growth, as they continue to expand through the Midwest region.
The successful candidate should have a keen eye for detail, a demonstrated history of employee development, and a background in B2B sales within the facility services space.
Responsibilties
- Responsible for leading a team of twelve Business Development Managers who are responsible for new business development within their territories.
- Establish specific and measurable goals for the team that align with the Company’s overall objectives and growth targets.
- Monitor, track, and manage the sales team's performance.
- Establish and oversee sales KPI’s and metrics on an ongoing and regular basis.
- Manage the marketing department and their efforts. Direct their strategies and works by presenting marketing research and suggesting new strategies to expand their market.
- Research emerging trends and recommend new offerings to satisfy customer needs.
- Provide the training and development of each member.
- Excel at relationship building and deal closing.
- Collaborate with leadership to create strategies and initiatives that address growth needs.
- Maintain and advance sales forecasting by effective utilization of their CRM.
- Use data-driven insights for improvement and optimize the sales process.
- Recruit competent new sales staff and build an exceptional sales team.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive experience in sales, with at least 5 in sales leadership, preferably in a facility services business.
- Proven track record in managing and directing a highly skilled, motivated, successful and results-oriented sales team that has led to meaningful revenue growth.
- Strong relationship management and the ability to engage and motivate multiple individuals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Resourceful and a creative problem solver
- Highly motivated, confident, energetic and possess a positive attitude
- Proven track record as a high performing individual sales performer
- Bilingual English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
