Construction Project Manager
Our client is an award-winning landscape architecture and luxury exterior construction firm specializing in high-end residential outdoor living projects. Based in Sterling, VA, and serving the greater Washington D.C. metro area, they operate with the precision and scale of a premier custom home builder.
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee the execution of large-scale exterior construction projects, including custom pool houses, complex masonry, and intricate hardscaping. This role is pivotal in managing field operations, budgets, and schedules while collaborating closely with the design and sales teams to bring visionary outdoor spaces to life.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate field production activities, resources, and schedules using organizational tools like Gantt charts to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
- Oversee the construction of high-end exterior features, acting as the primary field leader for complex trades including carpentry, masonry, lighting, and pool construction.
- Collaborate seamlessly with internal design and sales divisions to ensure all project outcomes exceed client expectations and minimize warranty call-backs.
- Enforce rigorous safety protocols, maintaining a secure work environment and strict compliance with all safety standards across multiple active job sites.
- Monitor and report on contractual obligations, tracking daily progress to proactively identify potential roadblocks and present solutions to leadership.
Requirements
- 5+ years of residential construction experience, with a strong preference for candidates with custom home building or high-end exterior construction backgrounds.
- 5+ years of supervisory or project management experience, demonstrating a highly stable work history and long-term commitment to previous employers.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a comprehensive understanding of various construction trades.
- Exceptional organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to follow structured processes, schedules, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- A humble, team-first mentality; the ideal candidate is highly collaborative, leaves their ego at the door, and is proactive in communicating up the chain of command.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite, along with a valid driver’s license.
Compensation & Benefits
- $90,000 - $130,000 base salary (commensurate with experience)
