Great Lakes Landscape Supply is a rapidly growing company based out of Cedar Springs Michigan.
We specialize in wholesale sales to the landscape trade. We sell trees, shrubs, perennials, natural stone, concrete products, and more. We have 50+ acres of ready-to-sell plant material ranging from 3’ shrubs to 5” caliper trees. Are you a self-motivated, hardworking individual with a can-do attitude and a strong willingness to learn? We are looking for new crew members to join our team! As a Nursery Plant Handler & Maintenance Worker, you'll be a critical member of our team that helps maintain the nursery, working as a team player to fill gaps as needed in order get the job done. This is a fast-paced job, and you will need to be able to handle the pressure of time crunches. We are willing to compensate hard-working people!
What You'll Do
- Help load and unload trucks and prepare material for sale: Move items to the correct location in the nursery and provide water.
- Help pot up new plants for sale.
- Water, prune and fertilize plants. Pull weeds and help with the general upkeep of greenhouses.
- Help move plant material in and out of polyhouses in early spring and fall. Trim and clean polyhouses in fall.
- Help weekend crew with watering, potting, truck unloading, and plant maintenance as needed.
Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Personable and friendly attitude
- Organized with the ability to multitask
- Although experience in the green industry is a plus, no previous industry experience is required. We are willing to train the right person!
This is a full-time position. Pay range based on experience.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm
- Possible Saturday/Sunday work with watering crew which usually starts mid-morning through early afternoon.
- Overtime is paid after 40 hours per week.
- Layoff period will begin sometime in December through March
