The Opportunity
We are partnering with a growing, multi-location residential services organization seeking an experienced General Manager to help lead the business through its next phase of operational growth and scalability.
This role is ideal for a hands-on operational leader who thrives in fast-paced, field-driven environments and understands how to balance people, process, customer experience, and financial performance across a distributed workforce.
The business operates within a recurring revenue, route-based service model with multiple locations and a large frontline employee population. The organization is focused on strengthening operational consistency, improving workforce stability, enhancing customer retention, and building scalable processes that support long-term growth.
This is a highly visible leadership role that will partner closely with executive leadership and operational teams to improve accountability, drive execution, strengthen leadership capability, and create a more disciplined operating environment across the organization.
The ideal candidate is both strategic and operationally hands-on — someone comfortable rolling up their sleeves, building trust with field teams, and driving measurable business outcomes in a service-oriented environment.
The Role:
Operational Leadership
- Lead day-to-day operations across multiple locations within a field-based service organization.
- Drive operational consistency, accountability, and execution across branches and leadership teams.
- Establish clear operating rhythms, priorities, KPIs, and communication cadences.
- Improve route efficiency, workforce productivity, customer experience, and service quality.
- Partner with leadership to support organizational growth and scalability initiatives.
Team Leadership & Accountability
- Develop and coach frontline leaders and operational managers.
- Build a culture of accountability, communication, and performance ownership.
- Improve manager effectiveness through stronger leadership practices, coaching, and follow-through.
- Create alignment across departments and improve cross-functional collaboration.
Workforce & Customer Experience
- Partner with leadership to improve employee retention, onboarding, engagement, and overall workforce stability.
- Support initiatives that improve technician experience and customer retention.
- Help build a more scalable operating environment that supports long-term growth and service consistency.
Financial & Business Performance
- Drive operational and financial performance across labor, productivity, customer retention, and service delivery metrics.
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning, budgeting, and operational efficiencies.
- Utilize reporting, operational data, and KPIs to guide business decisions and improve performance.
Your Background
- 10+ years of operational leadership experience within a field-based, route-based, or multi-location service organization.
- Experience leading distributed teams in industries such as home services, residential services, facilities services, route-based operations, landscaping, pest control, HVAC, plumbing, or similar operational environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of workforce management, operational KPIs, customer retention, and field operations.
- Proven ability to bring structure, accountability, and process discipline to growing organizations.
- Experience improving manager capability, operational execution, and cross-functional alignment.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments where priorities and business needs may shift quickly.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence both frontline teams and executive leadership.
- Operationally minded, hands-on, and solutions-oriented leader who enjoys building teams and improving business performance.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
