Job Summary
We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development & Sales Specialist to lead growth for our commercial landscaping, snow removal, and exterior maintenance services. This role is responsible for generating new business, building strong client relationships, and securing long-term service contracts within targeted commercial markets.
The ideal candidate brings industry knowledge, a proactive sales mindset, and the ability to translate client needs into tailored service solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities through prospecting, cold outreach, networking, and referrals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers including property managers, facility leaders, developers, and procurement professionals
- Conduct site visits, needs assessments, and client consultations to develop customized service solutions
- Lead the full sales cycle—from initial contact through proposal, negotiation, and contract execution
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations that communicate the value of our exterior service offerings
- Develop detailed proposals, pricing models, and responses to RFPs
- Collaborate with internal teams (estimating, design, and operations) to ensure solutions align with client needs and budgets
- Maintain an active and accurate sales pipeline using CRM tools (SalesForce)
- Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets
- Support marketing initiatives, campaigns, and promotional efforts
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and professional organizations (e.g., BOMA, IFMA, IREM, ASHE)
- Partner with operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding and high client satisfaction
- Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development or sales (experience in landscaping, snow removal, or exterior services strongly preferred)
- Associate’s degree in Business, Marketing, Landscape Architecture, or a related field preferred
- Proven track record of closing high-value deals and managing a strong sales pipeline
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience with CRM platforms, as well as tools like ZoomInfo or CoStar, is a plus
