Estate Grounds Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Estate Grounds Maintenance Technician assists in the maintenance, preservation and enhancement of a growing estate garden. The successful applicant will work both independently and in collaboration with garden and household staff to maintain safe, clean, and beautiful grounds for the enjoyment of the visitors.

Caretakers of a picturesque, private, historic waterfront estate in the greater Annapolis area featuring bay views, formal and informal garden areas, open lawns, meadows, and mature trees. We are actively expanding and enhancing garden spaces while preserving the natural and historical character of the property.
Duties & Responsibilities
Estate Maintenance:
Assist with the maintenance of estate infrastructure, including roads, pathways, patios, beaches, furniture, irrigation, water treatment, and pond operations.
Grounds and Turf Care:
Maintain grounds area, including fertilization, turf repair, overseeding, bed & turf watering, some mowing, and pesticide applications.
Gardening Support: Assist horticulturists and gardeners with gardening tasks such as planting, weeding, watering, and pruning as needed.
General Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and repair tools & equipment.
The Estate Grounds Maintenance Technician will work under the direction of the estate horticulturist on a full-time basis during the season, April - December, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Weekends or extended hours may be required.
Experience and Qualifications
2-3 years of practical landscape maintenance or similar experience preferred
General knowledge of garden care, including planting, pruning, weeding, watering, mulching, and pest & disease monitoring & control
Ability to operate small machinery, including utility vehicles, push mowers, blowers, string trimmers, chainsaws, and other landscape tools
Mechanical aptitude; able or willing to learn service and repair of small machines
Irrigation and/or plumbing repair skills
Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all conditions, including wet, dry, hot, and cold conditions
Ability to safely lift, carry, push and/or pull 50 lbs
Maryland pesticide applicator’s license is a plus
Must have good people skills, a committed work ethic, and willingness to work in a collaborative and congenial manner as a team player
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office is a plus
Must have a clean driver’s license and have own reliable transportation;
Employment conditioned on consent to a background check
