Description
The Sales Arborist – Business Development drives growth for Russell Landscape’s tree care and arboriculture services by combining technical expertise with proactive client development. This role identifies and secures tree care opportunities within existing commercial and municipal landscape maintenance portfolios, while also developing new relationships with property managers, management companies, institutional clients, and municipal stakeholders aligned with Russell Landscape’s core markets.
The Sales Arborist partners closely with Maintenance Account Managers, estimating, operations, and branch leadership to develop service solutions that align arboricultural best practices with operational capabilities and regional market conditions. Success in this role is measured by revenue growth, expansion of recurring tree care services, and disciplined pipeline management.
Key Responsibilities
· Drive tree service revenue growth throughout the Metro Atlanta market
· Partner with Maintenance Account Managers to identify and develop tree care opportunities within existing commercial and municipal portfolios
· Develop new relationships with commercial property managers, management companies, institutional clients, and municipal stakeholders aligned with target markets
· Conduct tree assessments and inventories to identify safety risks, maintenance needs, and service opportunities
· Develop and present recommendations for pruning, removals, risk mitigation, and plant health care services
· Prepare and present proposals aligned with operational capabilities and competitive regional pricing
· Maintain an active sales pipeline, forecast revenue, and track activity within CRM platforms
· Support development of recurring tree care programs, including pruning cycles and plant health care strategies
· Participate in job walkthroughs and post-service follow-ups to ensure client satisfaction and identify additional opportunities
· Stay informed on regional arboriculture trends, pest pressures, and regulatory requirements
· Represent Russell Landscape at industry events and professional networking opportunities
Qualifications & Competencies
· ISA Certified Arborist credential required
· 3+ years of experience in arboriculture, tree care consulting, or arborist sales
· Proven ability to develop new client relationships and expand services within commercial or municipal portfolios
· Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to translate technical recommendations into practical solutions
· Knowledge of tree biology, pruning standards, risk assessment, and plant health care programs
· Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the Metro Atlanta region
· Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
· Financial awareness to evaluate pricing structures, service feasibility, and profitability
· Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
· Familiarity with the Metro Atlanta commercial or municipal landscape market preferred
