We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Manager to lead our field sales team, strengthen customer relationships, and drive sustainable revenue growth.
About The Role
The Sales Manager will oversee and support a team of field sales representatives, ensuring they meet performance goals, develop key accounts, and provide outstanding customer service. This leadership role requires a hands-on manager who can coach, mentor, and motivate the team while also contributing to strategic sales initiatives. The Sales Manager will report directly to the General Manager, providing regular updates on sales performance, market opportunities, and team development to the President and CFO.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of field sales representatives to achieve and exceed rental revenue targets.
- Monitor and analyze team performance metrics, providing guidance and corrective action as needed.
- Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings with sales team to check in on KPI progress and provide guidance necessary to accomplish goals within.
- Conduct regular ride-alongs and field visits with sales reps to support relationship building and deal closure.
- Ensure the sales team maintains strong relationships with contractors and industrial clients.
- Provide feedback operations and service teams regarding customer satisfaction/dissatisfaction directly to General Manager.
- Stay informed about market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback.
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and activity summaries for leadership.
- Review current and prospective accounts, making fleet recommendations.
Experience And Qualifications
- Track record of hiring, coaching, and developing a sales team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- 5+ years of experience as a front-line sales manager in the construction industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Proven experience managing a field sales team, preferably in equipment rental, construction, landscaping, or industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of product lines carried by TORO is a plus.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the territory.
Compensation
- Base Salary: $140,000 – $150,000
- Performance-Based Incentive: up to 30% of base
- Full benefits package, PTO, and applicable allowances provided

- CRM (RepMove) data is accurate, current, and actively used
- Sales reps expect regular accountability and follow-up
- Pipeline visibility improves with fewer surprises

- Sales performance becomes repeatable and less dependent on executive involvement
Location
- This role is On Site and traveling to customers and prospects in the Southern California Area
- Corona, CA
