About the Position
The company is seeking a skilled and Certified Irrigation Technician to manage residential irrigation systems, reporting directly to the owner. This role focuses primarily on maintenance and repairs—managing everything from spring start-ups to winterizations—while delivering top-tier service to a dedicated clientele of 20+ years.
Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive system start-ups, shutdowns (winterizations), and seasonal maintenance for residential properties.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical systems, including timers, wiring, and sensors.
- Perform precise plumbing tasks, including soldering/welding copper and solvent welding (gluing) PVC joints.
- Diagnose system issues effectively to recommend and implement necessary repairs or upgrades.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, explaining technical issues clearly to homeowners to maintain the company’s strong reputation.
- Manage an assigned daily schedule, typically working ~60 hours per week (Monday–Saturday) during the peak season.
Requirements
- Certification: Must hold a current certification as a Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) through the Irrigation Association (IA) or a Certified Landscape Technician (CLT-Irrigation) through NALP.
- Experience: Proven proficiency in the irrigation industry, with specific expertise in troubleshooting and repair (not just installation).
- Technical Skills: Ability to work with various timers, solder/weld pipes, and troubleshoot traditional electrical systems.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication abilities and a professional demeanor are essential for interacting with long-term customers.
- Licensing: Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Availability: Willingness to work a high-volume seasonal schedule (approx. 8–9 months/year).
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $25 – $35+ per hour, depending on experience.
