The Division Manager is experienced and skilled at recruiting and leading teams with a management style that focuses on mentoring and coaching. The manager should also have the business acumen to predict sales trends and generate new business, impeccable organizational skills, including the ability to organize inventory, oversee multiple teams of people including sales and customer service, material buyers, and inventory maintenance and organization. The manager will direct a team of 45-55 people and will oversee the day-to-day operation of a large horticultural department.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS· Oversee the organization and maintenance of materials in the sales yard or sales floor with a staff of 45-55 people of differing skill levels.· Coordinate with buyers to ensure proper inventory levels and coordinate yard staff to appropriately place and care for materials.· Recruit, train, oversee and terminate employees. Be able to teach correct techniques and procedures for department specific products.· Model appropriate customer service behavior.· Develop career paths and coach employees.· Maintain a safe working environment by creating and implementing safety policies that adhere to legal (OSHA) standards.· Review and control overall operating budget.· Work to advance the goals of ownership in terms of sales growth.· With a sales team of 6-10 people, develop sales projections and trends, cultivate new customers, and ensure a smooth customer care experience.OTHER DUTIES· Execute the duties of the position in alignment with the Company Mission and Conduct Policies.· Use technology as required by the position.· Complete required annual trainings as assigned.· Perform other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY DUTIES· Lead required meetings and participate in goal setting for the division.· Develop a team of supervisors capable of directing the group if the Manager is not available.· Complete Performance Management documents including Performance Reviews and Performance Improvement plans and conduct meetings with team members to discuss performance, goals and development opportunities.
