Responsibilities
- Support climbers and arborists with rigging, lowering branches, and managing ground operations safely.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain essential industry equipment, including wood chippers, chainsaws, and stump grinders.
- Clear debris, process brush, and ensure the work site is left immaculate after project completion to minimize property disruption.
- Communicate continuously with team members to ensure safety protocols are strictly followed during complex pruning and tree removals.
- Assist with site setup, including traffic control and securing the perimeter of the work zone to protect both property and the public.
- Perform routine maintenance, sharpening, and daily inspections on all ground tools and vehicles.
- Drive company trucks and equipment to and from job sites while strictly adhering to all transportation safety regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, accompanied by a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in tree care, landscaping, or forestry is preferred but not required for candidates with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor in various weather conditions and comfortably lift heavy materials.
- Foundational understanding of job site safety, hazard recognition, and basic knot-tying or rigging techniques.
- Exceptional teamwork, active listening, and communication skills.
- Genuine passion for environmental stewardship, tree health, and sustainable outdoor practices.
- Willingness to pursue ongoing industry education and certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, TCIA, or ISA credentials) with the employer's support.
