Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and resourceful Assistant Project Manager (APM) to provide hands-on support to our crews. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities. The APM will help with day-to-day administrative tasks, procurement, scheduling, and client communication to ensure jobs move forward smoothly and efficiently. The APM will also respond to time-sensitive field needs, punch list requests, troubleshooting calls, and logistical tasks to support the field crews and company owner.
Key Responsibilities
Project Support
• Assist with job scheduling including crew assignments and subcontractor coordination.
- Maintain accurate and up to date work and job records
- Help track project milestones and maintain up to date documentation.
Client Communication & Updates
• Follow up on client questions or changes and relay them to project crew chiefs
•. Assist in documenting changes or issues on active job sites
Specialty Procurement & Material Sourcing
• Research, source, and procure specialty plants and construction materials that are not readily available through regular suppliers.
•. Track orders, coordinate deliveries, and manage relationships with specialty vendors.
•. Ensure timely procurement of materials to keep projects on schedule
Problem Solving & Field Support
•. Handle one-off field tasks such as hot shot deliveries, troubleshooting client issues indirectly related to projects, or managing unexpected site issues including miscellaneous client requests.
•. Respond to emergency or last minute project needs that don’t warrant a full crew deployment.
•. Conduct occasional jobsite walkthroughs to document progress, review quality, and support company principle.
Logistics
•. Handle plant deliveries and other errands as needed to support operations.
•. Provide additional support to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction.
Skills & Requirements
•. An associate degree in horticulture or a minimum of two years (2) industry experience in lieu of a degree.
•. Demonstrate excellent professional communications skills, with a clear ability to build relationships.
•. Computer proficiency - Mac/Windows and the ability to learn and master landscape design programs.”
