Base Salary: $50,000 – $60,000
Commission: Performance-based commission on new revenue generated
Total Earnings Potential: $90,000 – $150,000+
POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for driving new revenue growth for Wild Ridge Lawn & Landscape by identifying, engaging, and qualifying new commercial clients. This role focuses on building relationships with property managers, facility directors, real estate developers, and commercial decision-makers to expand Wild Ridge’s presence across our target markets.
The BDR operates as the front line of the company’s growth engine by generating qualified opportunities for the sales and operations teams. This role requires disciplined prospecting, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to communicate Wild Ridge’s value proposition effectively to potential clients.
Success in this role comes from maintaining a consistent prospecting rhythm, building trust with decision-makers, and generating a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities that convert into long-term commercial partnerships.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Success in the Business Development Representative role is defined by consistent pipeline generation, disciplined prospecting activity, and the ability to create new revenue opportunities for the company.
Within the first 6–12 months, the BDR will have:
· Pipeline Development: Built a consistent pipeline of qualified commercial opportunities through proactive prospecting and relationship development.
· Meeting Generation: Consistently scheduled discovery meetings and site walkthroughs with qualified commercial prospects.
· Market Presence: Established Wild Ridge as a visible and trusted provider within the Indianapolis commercial property market.
· CRM Discipline: Maintained accurate and organized prospecting activity within HubSpot CRM, ensuring clear visibility into pipeline progress.
· Revenue Contribution: Generated new opportunities that contribute directly to the company’s annual revenue growth targets.
OBJECTIVES
· Generate new commercial business opportunities through disciplined outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, and industry engagement to expand Wild Ridge’s presence across target markets.
· Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified commercial opportunities capable of supporting the company’s long-term revenue growth objectives.
· Identify, research, and prioritize high-value target accounts including property management firms, facility directors, real estate developers, asset managers, and multi-location commercial operators.
· Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within the commercial real estate and property management communities.
· Conduct consistent outbound outreach through phone calls, personalized email campaigns, LinkedIn engagement, site visits, and in-person introductions to create new conversations and opportunities.
· Operate with urgency and persistence, maintaining a proactive prospecting rhythm that consistently produces qualified meetings and new project opportunities.
· Qualify prospects by uncovering property needs, operational challenges, service expectations, budget parameters, and decision-making timelines.
· Schedule discovery meetings and onsite walkthroughs with qualified prospects for the Wild Ridge sales and operations team while remaining actively involved in developing the opportunity through the proposal stage.
· Communicate Wild Ridge’s service offerings, operational capabilities, and value proposition clearly and confidently during initial sales conversations.
· Generate new revenue opportunities that contribute to the company’s annual growth targets while supporting profitable project execution.
· Protect gross profit margin by ensuring opportunities align with Wild Ridge’s operational strengths, service capabilities, and target account profile.
· Collaborate with estimating and operations leadership to ensure projects entering the pipeline are aligned with company production capacity and margin expectations.
· Maintain disciplined prospecting activity and opportunity tracking within HubSpot CRM, ensuring accurate pipeline visibility and follow-up cadence.
· Track and report on key sales performance metrics including outreach activity, meetings scheduled, pipeline growth, revenue opportunities generated, and closed revenue.
· Actively participate as a member of Wild Ridge’s high-performance sales organization, contributing to a culture of accountability, energy, and market leadership.
· Represent Wild Ridge professionally at networking events, property management associations, trade groups, and industry gatherings to strengthen brand visibility and credibility.
· Provide feedback to leadership and marketing on market trends, competitive positioning, and messaging effectiveness based on real-world prospect interactions.
· Maintain a growth mindset and continuously refine prospecting strategies, communication techniques, and sales processes to improve results.
· Operate with a positive, competitive attitude that reflects Wild Ridge’s commitment to excellence, massive action, and market leadership.
· Contribute to building a dominant sales culture focused on winning new business, expanding market share, and establishing Wild Ridge as the premier commercial landscape provider in the region.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· 2+ years of B2B sales or business development experience preferred.

· Strong business communication skills including phone, email, and presentation.
· Valid driver’s license required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Frequent travel within the Indianapolis market to meet with prospective clients.
· Ability to attend networking events and conduct in-person meetings.
· Extended periods of computer work and CRM documentation.
