LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER
PAY RANGE
Hourly Pay Range: $28-$38/hr.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Landscape Construction Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial landscape construction projects from pre-construction through final closeout. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget while protecting gross margin and maintaining Wild Ridge Lawn & Landscape’s quality standards.
The Project Manager partners closely with estimating, sales, design, field leadership, subcontractors, and clients to drive disciplined project execution and profitable outcomes. This role plays a key part in ensuring operational consistency, margin protection, and strong client relationships across the construction division.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Success in the Landscape Construction Project Manager role is defined by predictable project delivery, disciplined cost control, and strong field leadership.
Within the first 12–18 months, this role will have:

Maintained project gross margin within ±2% of estimated targets across assigned projects while proactively managing labor, materials, and subcontractor costs.
· Operational Execution
Delivered 95%+ of projects on schedule through effective planning, coordination, and production management.
· Accurate Job Costing & Forecasting
Achieved 98%+ job cost accuracy through disciplined job cost reviews, forecasting, and early identification of financial risks.
· Safety Leadership
Maintained full safety compliance across all projects with zero preventable recordable incidents.
· Project Closeout Excellence
Ensured 100% of projects are completed with proper documentation, change orders, billing accuracy, and final closeout procedures.
· Strong Vendor & Subcontractor Partnerships
Developed reliable relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, dependable scheduling, and quality performance.
· Client Satisfaction & Repeat Work

OBJECTIVES
• Manage $3M+ in annual landscape construction revenue across multiple commercial projects depending on experience and project complexity.
• Maintain project gross margins within ±2% of bid targets, proactively identifying risks and implementing corrective actions to protect profitability.
• Achieve 95%+ on-time project completion through disciplined planning, scheduling, and coordination with field teams and subcontractors.
• Conduct weekly job cost reviews on 100% of active projects to ensure labor, materials, and subcontractor costs remain aligned with project estimates.
• Maintain labor productivity within 95% of estimated production rates through effective planning, scheduling, and field leadership.
• Ensure all projects have documented pre-construction meetings and handoff documentation prior to mobilization.
• Review, price, and approve all change orders within 48 hours of identification to protect company revenue and prevent scope creep.
• Maintain 100% billing accuracy and timely invoice submission in accordance with contract terms and company billing procedures.
• Ensure 100% subcontractor compliance documentation, including insurance certificates, contracts, and safety requirements.
• Complete final project closeout documentation within 10 days of substantial completion, including punch lists, final billing, and margin review.
• Ensure project billing is submitted within 48 hours of milestone completion to maintain consistent company cash flow.
• Maintain 98%+ job cost accuracy through disciplined project cost tracking and forecasting throughout the lifecycle of each project.
• Conduct routine job site visits and quality inspections to ensure projects meet Wild Ridge standards for workmanship, safety, and professionalism.
• Maintain a positive, solution-oriented leadership attitude that reflects Wild Ridge’s core values and fosters a productive and respectful jobsite culture.
• Communicate effectively with foremen, field crews, subcontractors, and clients to ensure alignment on project expectations, schedules, and quality standards.
• Identify additional project scope or enhancement opportunities during construction and communicate them to the estimating or sales team for pricing.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with General Contractors, developers, and project stakeholders to position Wild Ridge for future project opportunities.
• Support the company’s growth by helping generate future sales opportunities through trusted partnerships with GC partners and repeat clients.
• Collaborate with estimating and sales teams by providing field insights and feedback that improve future project estimates, production planning, and profitability.
• Proactively identify project risks, scheduling conflicts, or budget challenges early and implement solutions before they impact project performance.
• Identify and communicate potential future project opportunities with General Contractors, developers, and property owners that can generate additional landscape construction work for Wild Ridge.
• Support the development of foremen and field leaders by providing coaching, clear expectations, and performance feedback that improves productivity and jobsite leadership.
• Ensure projects are properly staged with materials, equipment, and subcontractors to prevent production delays and maximize crew efficiency.
COMPETENCIES
Strong understanding of commercial landscape construction including:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, or related field preferred.
· 5+ years of experience in commercial construction or landscape construction project management.
· Proven experience managing multi-crew commercial landscape projects.
· Experience with project management or ERP systems such as Aspire, LMN, or Procore preferred.
· Strong understanding of job costing, forecasting, scheduling, and production planning.
· OSHA safety knowledge and experience managing job site safety preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Combination of office-based work and field oversight.
· Ability to walk job sites for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
· Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
· Ability to work at a computer for extended periods managing project documentation and cost tracking.
· Valid driver’s license required.
