The Position:
We are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee scheduling, labor, and field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role drives efficiency, supports field crews, and serves as the central point of communication between clients, teams, and leadership. Their goal is to optimize productivity, control costs, and deliver operational excellence.
Position Responsibilities:
- Oversee all scheduling using the Aspire system, ensuring crews are properly assigned based on contract scope, capacity, and priorities.
- Plan ahead to balance workloads, anticipate labor needs, and prevent gaps in coverage.
- Execute weekly and monthly labor plans to ensure proper coverage and productivity.
- Track daily labor hours, verify accurate clock-ins, and ensure hours align with budgeted expectations.
- Monitor labor expenses and overall workforce utilization to keep operations within budgeted labor hours, dollars, and percentages.
- Lead and coordinate all operational projects, ensuring work is delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with operational goals.
- Oversee field operations to ensure quality, safety, and standards are consistently met.
- Analyze operational processes and workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Supervise and support field operations crews, ensuring proper performance, adherence to standards, and safety.
- Conduct occasional field visits to monitor execution, verify standards, and ensure alignment with operational objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for operational communications across clients and field teams.
- Coordinate closely with ASRs by receiving all client communications and ensuring operational needs are addressed.
- Communicate frequently via email and internally to ensure alignment across teams.
- Provide operational updates and feedback to leadership to support decision-making and planning.
- Ensure all field operations comply with company safety policies, procedures and expectations.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions to promote a culture of safety.
- Supervise training, development, appraisal and work assignments of personnel. Has oversight over hiring, firing, promotions and assignments.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in construction management, horticulture, project management, operations management, or related field required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in construction, operations, project management, or related field within the landscaping industry, required.
- 1-2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience required.
- Proficiency with Aspire, Microsoft 365, and scheduling platforms preferred.
- Strong knowledge in scheduling, workforce planning, and managing labor resources to meet operational goals.
