The position of Tree Climber is a full-time role within our arborist team. The individual in this role is expected to perform tree climbing, pruning, removal, and maintenance using industry-standard techniques and equipment. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, precision, and environmental care. The ideal candidate must be physically capable of performing strenuous outdoor work in varying weather conditions, detail-oriented in task execution, and dedicated to delivering high-quality tree services in alignment with company standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform tree climbing and aerial lift operations for pruning, removal, and cabling
- Operate chainsaws, rigging gear, and other arborist tools safely and efficiently
- Assess tree health and structural integrity, report findings to crew leader
- Follow ANSI A300 pruning standards and OSHA safety protocols
- Maintain equipment and ensure job site cleanliness and safety
- Assist with ground operations, including brush chipping and debris removal
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- One or more years of experience in tree climbing or arboriculture preferred
- Ability to climb trees using ropes, harnesses, and spurs
- Familiarity with rigging techniques and chainsaw operation
- Must speak English clearly for safety, teamwork and effective job performance
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain)
- ISA Certified Arborist or Tree Worker Climber Specialist a plus
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Own and the ability to use an iPhone or Android
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 60 pounds or more, work at heights, and perform strenuous, strength and cardio related functions outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Comfortable working with power tools and heavy machinery
- Tolerance for exposure to outdoors conditions, insects, pollen, and uneven terrain
Compliance and Safety
- Adherence to company safety policies, PPE requirements, and daily tailgate meetings
- Participation in ongoing safety training and certifications
- Prompt reporting of incidents, near-misses, and equipment concerns
- 3-4-day workweek to provide enough downtime to recover from the physical demands of the work
