Overview
As the Turf-Plant Health Care Production Manager, you will oversee all aspects of commercial and residential mowing and plant health care (PHC) operations. Your responsibilities include scheduling crews, managing project scopes, ensuring high-quality service, maintaining proactive customer communication, and optimizing departmental efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Scheduling & Routing: Develop and manage efficient schedules for mowing and chemical crews, ensuring timely job completion with minimal downtime.
- Project Planning & Oversight: Define project scopes, assign resources, and monitor progress to ensure on-time, high-quality execution.
- Material & Inventory Management: Identify project needs, source and purchase materials, and track inventory levels for efficient operations.
- Vendor Coordination: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to secure materials and supplies at optimal pricing and availability.
- Site Inspections & Quality Control: Conduct proactive site visits to assess service quality, address potential issues, and uphold company standards.
- Customer Experience & Communication: Maintain strong client relationships through proactive outreach, site visits, and efficient resolution of customer concerns.
- Financial Oversight: Track and review job costs, profitability, and invoice accuracy to ensure financial efficiency within the department.
- Team Leadership & Development: Support, train, and mentor team members, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Safety & Compliance: Promote and enforce safety policies, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and company safety standards.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with the Maintenance Management and Leadership Teams to support seamless operations and drive company-wide success.
- Weather-Responsive Operations: Manage teams in varying weather conditions, including scheduling and training staff for snow removal and emergency response situations.
- Meeting Participation: Attend company and departmental meetings as required, providing insights and strategic input for operational improvements.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of turf management, mowing operations, and plant health care principles.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and industry-related software such as Aspire, Google Earth, and Outlook.
- Valid Driver’s License (MO Class E preferred)
- Degree or certificate in Landscape, Horticulture, Turf Management or related field preferred.
Required Experience
- Certified Commercial Applicator license (must be able to obtain within 90 days of your start date).
- 3+ years of experience in landscaping, turf management, or plant health care services.
- Experience in scheduling crews, project management, and customer service within the green industry.
- Familiarity with industry best practices for mowing, fertilization, aeration, pest control, and irrigation.
