Givens Estates a nonprofit continuing care retirement community, is looking for a full-time Landscape Crew Member to join our Grounds Team. The primary purpose of this position is to maintain the appearance of the campus so that it is presentable at all times and to help assure the highest degree of quality care is provided to residents and their surrounding environment. The schedule for this position is Monday - Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm.
What You'll Do
- Perform duties necessary to maintain an attractive and safe environment throughout campus
- Assist with turf maintenance, as needed, including trimming on banks and natural areas
- Keep shrub and flower beds clean, weeded, edged, and mulched
- Remove fallen leaves
- Prunes shrubs and trees with the guidance of the Landscape Crew Member
- Assist as directed with snow and ice removal and other severe-weather response activities
- Install and maintain trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plant material
- Properly operate and maintain power equipment and hand tools, with support from the Mechanic or other authorized staff as needed
- Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor
What You'll Need
- High School GED equivalent is preferred
- Must have, as a minimum, six months experience in a grounds worker capacity
- Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License
Compensation is $20.00 - $21.50 per hour, based on background and experience, plus our comprehensive benefits package!
