This Tree Service Grounds Person role provides essential, hands-on ground support for arborists and aerial lift operators during complex tree pruning and removal operations. New hires will be paired with an experienced arborist coach for comprehensive internal training to develop the skills needed for proactive ground support.

Responsibilities
- Provide vital ground support for climbers and aerial lift operators during complex tree removals and pruning operations.
- Process brush and wood efficiently using chainsaws and wood chippers while ensuring jobsites are clean, organized, and restored to high standards.
- Establish and maintain safe work zones by directing traffic, anticipating overhead hazards, and prioritizing crew safety.
- Participate in dedicated internal training with a certified arborist coach to safely manage ropes, advanced rigging equipment, and lowering devices.
- Develop a foundational understanding of tree structure, weight distribution, and limb assessment to eventually provide informed, proactive ground support.
- Assist with preventative maintenance, basic equipment troubleshooting, and daily tool inspections.
Requirements
- Demonstrate a strong eagerness to learn the arboriculture trade, as this is an entry-level position with robust internal training provided.
- Exhibit a commitment to a safety-first culture, respectful communication, and coachability in a dynamic outdoor environment.
- Possess the physical capability to perform demanding outdoor work, including the safe operation of compact equipment, chainsaws, and wood chippers.
- Maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, ideally with the ability to safely maneuver and back trailers in tight or hilly residential environments.
