Reporting directly to the company owner, you will be the driving force behind ensuring accurate month-end closes, fast event-driven billing, and strategic cash flow management. Responsibilities
- Execute full-cycle accounting operations, taking hands-on ownership of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and the general ledger.
- Drive accurate, event-driven billing and rapid post-storm invoicing under time-sensitive conditions.
- Manage detailed job costing processes tailored to trade services, ensuring accurate margin and profitability tracking.
- Process payroll and overtime for a highly seasonal, surge-driven hourly workforce.
- Complete precise and timely month-end closes, eliminating the need for day-to-day intervention from the owner.
- Navigate and maintain financial records within QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise while integrating data from specialized platforms like Aspire and Inova.
- Collaborate with field operations to gather necessary data and work seamlessly with external accountants to generate comprehensive financial statements.
Requirements
- Must be bilingual (English/Spanish) or possess conversational Spanish skills to effectively collaborate with the operational workforce.
- Proven experience in an operational accounting role, with a willingness to actively process payroll and AP.
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise and strong Excel skills.
- Demonstrated grit and endurance to handle demanding seasonal cycles, which requires 12-hour shifts and weekend availability during winter snow events.
- Prior experience with job costing, budgeting, and cash flow management within construction, landscaping, or field-service industries is highly preferred.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a self-starting nature to investigate financial discrepancies without being chased.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for an on-site schedule and off-hours seasonal response.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 commensurate with experience.
- Bonus Potential: 5-15% discretionary bonus.
