Small Engine Mechanic
Frustrated with Flat Rate pay, trying to beat the clock, and warranty work? This opportunity in Pataskala, OH offers hourly pay plus overtime, full time year round work, excellent benefits, and a fully equipped shop with all tools provided.
Working alongside another team member, you’ll perform high-quality preventative and reactive maintenance across a fleet of 44 vehicles, trailers, and specialized landscaping machinery, ensuring all trucks and small engines remain fully operational and prepared for upcoming seasonal demands.
Compensation & Benefits
- $24.00 - $30.00 per hour based on experience (1.5x Overtime pay for anything over 40 hours per week).

Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair fleet vehicles, trailers, heavy excavation machinery, and a wide variety of small engines.
- Execute scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance across a diverse inventory of landscaping and snow removal equipment.
- Prepare seasonal equipment—including mowers, seeders, aerators, mulch mules, and snowplows—before each season begins.
- Collaborate closely with fellow mechanics to ensure all operational maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Coordinate with designated local vendors for specialized needs, such as tire balancing, alignments, and direct-to-shop parts delivery.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience in the mechanical field, specifically diagnosing and repairing automotive fleet vehicles and small engines.
- Ability to comfortably transition between working on heavy diesel equipment and smaller, specialized landscaping tools.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to tackle both routine preventative maintenance and complex, unscheduled repairs.
