We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Assistant Production Manager to join our team and develop the skills necessary to oversee our container and field-growing operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone interested in horticulture, nursery production, and agricultural management to learn all aspects of a large-scale growing operation and advance into a leadership role. Responsibilities & Training The Assistant Production Manager will work closely with ownership and our production team while receiving training in: Overseeing and assisting with scheduling and daily production activities Planting, pruning, fertilizing, pest management, and irrigation of container-grown trees and shrubs Field production and crop management Monitoring plant health and overall crop quality Overseeing equipment maintenance and coordinating repairs as needed Assisting with production forecasting and planning Maintaining accurate inventory and availability counts for the sales department Attending industry trade shows, educational seminars, and training programs Taking on increasing responsibility as knowledge and experience develop Qualifications Previous experience in horticulture, nursery production, landscaping, agriculture, or a related field preferred Strong interest in plants, horticulture, and nursery operations Hands-on, dependable, and willing to work outdoors in all seasons Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently while also being part of a team Strong communication skills Bilingual in English and Spanish is a preferred.
