We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Commercial Landscape Operations to lead our Commercial Construction Division. This is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall performance, growth, profitability, and execution of the division. You will lead the people, processes, and operations that transform opportunities into successful projects while developing the next generation of leaders within our organization.
The Role
This role oversees Production Managers, Project Managers, Superintendents, and field operations while working closely with executive leadership to establish strategy, drive profitability, improve operational performance, and support long-term growth.
Success in this role requires a leader who understands both the field and the business. Someone who can build strong teams, hold people accountable, improve systems, and ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably, and at the highest level of quality.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead the Division
- Provide leadership and direction for the Commercial Construction Division
- Develop and mentor Production Managers, Project Managers, and operational leaders
- Create accountability throughout the organization while maintaining a strong team culture
Drive Operational Excellence
- Oversee project execution from pre-construction through closeout
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to company standards
- Improve operational processes, efficiency, and productivity
- Monitor labor, equipment, subcontractors, and resource allocation
Manage Financial Performance
- Own divisional revenue, profitability, forecasting, and budgeting
- Monitor backlog, production performance, and financial results
- Identify opportunities to improve margins and operational efficiency
- Work with leadership to establish growth objectives and business plans
Support Business Growth
- Partner with sales and estimating teams to support new business development
- Evaluate opportunities for growth within existing and new markets
- Help position Hermes Landscaping as the preferred commercial landscape contractor in the Kansas City market

This role is best suited for a proven landscape construction leader who understands what it takes to build teams, grow a business, and consistently deliver exceptional projects.

- A Director of Construction looking for the opportunity to lead an entire division
- A Branch Manager ready for executive-level responsibility
- A Construction Operations Manager seeking a larger leadership role
- A proven leader who has worked their way up through field operations and understands both people and performance
Experience
- 10+ years of commercial landscape construction experience preferred
- 5+ years of senior leadership experience managing managers and operational leaders
- Proven experience leading large-scale commercial landscape construction operations
- Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, profitability, and operational planning
- Experience managing Production Managers, Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams
- Demonstrated success improving operational performance and developing leaders
- Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Landscape Management, Business, or related field preferred but not required with equivalent experience
