Summary
General Managers provide vision and leadership for their branches within their respective service footprint and are responsible for all aspects of their respective businesses. General Managers are responsible for attracting, training, leading, and retaining strong, cohesive teams to ensure we proactively communicate, provide consistent quality service, follow through on our commitments, and meet our customers’ expectations. General Managers have full Profit and Loss (P&L) and business growth responsibility. Charged with fostering a strong culture that aligns with overall corporate culture.
Leadership
- Lead a culture focused on service, quality, safety, communication, teamwork, and positive discontent.
- Provide vision and direction, ensuring all team members understand their division, branch, and company goals and objectives.
- Build, lead, and retain strong teams by developing and implementing personal growth plans for team members.
Client Service and Retention
- Drive customer satisfaction and retention by developing deep relationships with key customers.
- Coach team members to provide excellent service and proactive and responsive communication to all customers.
- Ensure that teams are coordinating effectively to deliver quality landscaping and follow-through on customer needs.
Business & Financial Performance
- Collaborate with Executive Team, Board of Directors, and other applicable personnel to build accurate, attainable, and aggressive growth budgets each year.
- Responsible for accurately forecasting revenue and direct expense by division and branch overheads on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Review and manage division budget, P&L performance, and overall financial health of the business and pivot according to changing needs.
- Collaborate with sales to ensure new business proposals and estimates are accurate and appropriately priced.
Business Growth and Sales
- Overall responsibility of growing the business falls on the shoulders of the General Manager.
- Assist with growth strategy for their respective market by helping identify key target prospects and leveraging existing relationships to drive growth.
- Participate in, organize, and lead networking events to foster relationships with potential and existing customers.
- Charged with seeking out opportunistic, add-on M&A opportunities within the market to grow the business through acquisition.
Other
- General Managers are assigned a seat on the Granite Hills Leadership Committee Team where they work alongside of the Executive Team to create and implement corporate initiatives and tasks to drive the business forward.
- May have corporate tasks and responsibilities assigned that are above and beyond respective branch responsibilities.
