Job Description:
Turf Tech is seeking an experienced and reliable Lawn Care Applicator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying fertilizers, weed control, and other lawn care treatments to residential and commercial properties. This position will require attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to educate clients on best practices for lawn health. During the off-season, this role may evolve into other responsibilities, such as leaf removal, junk removal, landscaping, and snow management services. Being a veteran or bilingual is a plus!
Key Responsibilities:
- Properly apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides following industry standards and regulations.
- Accurately measure and mix lawn care products based on lawn size and treatment needs.
- Operate and maintain application equipment, including spreaders, sprayers, and trucks.
- Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed when handling and applying chemicals.
- Identify lawn diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies, recommending solutions to clients.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding treatments, expectations, and post-application care.
- Maintain detailed records of applications, including chemicals used, amounts, and locations.
- Attend training and safety meetings to stay current on best practices and regulations.
- Assist with other seasonal services as needed, including leaf removal, landscaping, and snow management.
Job Duties Include:
- Applying lawn care treatments to ensure healthy and well-maintained turf.
- Operating and maintaining equipment, including spray tanks, spreaders, and aerators.
- Diagnosing common lawn issues and recommending treatment plans.
- Educating customers on proper lawn care maintenance practices.
- Ensuring compliance with state and federal pesticide application laws and guidelines.
- Keeping equipment and vehicles clean, organized, and in good working condition.
- Assisting in other landscaping or property maintenance tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience in lawn care or chemical applications preferred but not required—training available.
- Ability to obtain or currently hold a pesticide applicator license (Turf Tech will assist with certification).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Good physical condition, able to lift 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
