Uniforms and equipment provided Cave Hill Cemetery & Arboretum The Opportunity Cave Hill Cemetery is seeking a dedicated, positive, and leadership-oriented Horticulture Specialist to help maintain our historic, park-like grounds. As a Horticulture Specialist, you do more than just plant; you serve as a caretaker of our landscape and a mentor to your team. We are looking for an individual who brings a proactive approach to the field every day and takes pride in providing a serene, beautiful environment for the families we serve. In this role, you will work under the Landscape and Horticulture Manager, but you will be the primary leader and mentor for an assigned Horticulture Technician on day-to-day activities. Key Responsibilities Horticultural Care: A key understanding of seasonal landscape maintenance. Advanced knowledge of pruning, planting, watering, and hand-weeding to maintain our high standards of landscape maintenance. Landscape Installation: Planting and mulching trees, shrubs, annuals, and perennials. Health Monitoring: Proactively monitoring plant health for all new and established plantings. Service Readiness: Ensuring grounds and burial sites are pristine and respectful for upcoming services. Equipment Operation: Safely operating utility vehicles, power equipment, and landscaping tools. Qualifications Positive Mindset: A strong work ethic and the ability to maintain a professional, optimistic attitude in a public-facing, park-like setting. Experience: Proven experience in landscaping, public horticulture, or professional gardening. Leadership Skills: Previous supervisory experience is required; you should be comfortable delegating tasks and providing feedback. Physical Stamina: Ability to be on your feet for prolonged periods and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Requirements: Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the U.S. Ability to acquire Pesticide Applicators license with in 1 year.
