Exterior Landscaping Foreman Description
The Exterior Foreman is responsible for leading a small landscaping crew. The lead exterior foreman performs landscape maintenance, installations, turf applications, irrigation, snow removal, holiday installation and take-down.
Exterior Landscaping Foreman Duties And Responsibilities
- Supervise 1-6 landscape crew members
- Prepare equipment and tools for the day’s work
- Clock in and clock out employees
- Safely transport crew to worksites
- Instruct crew on site and delegate responsibilities
- Provide on the job training; coach employees on performance and provide constructive feedback
- Oversee landscape maintenance for commercial properties; ensure daily projects are completed on time through planning and monitoring work of crew
- Complete lawn maintenance, installations, edging, mulching, planting, turf applications, irrigation, snow removal, holiday installation & take-down
- Inspect jobs for quality and completion
- Solve problems; elevate concerns as appropriate to management in a timely manner
- Maintain and promote a safe workplace by following and enforcing all safety guidelines
Requirements
Exterior Landscaping Foreman Requirements
- 3 years of formal landscape and snow removal experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record required
- Ability to safely operate a variety of large vehicles and landscaping equipment with precision and skill
- Sufficient manual dexterity to use hand and power tools
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stand for long periods of time, and traverse uneven surfaces
- Must be able to move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds frequently and move weights of up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to train, coach and supervise others
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Excellent attendance and reliability
- Attention to detail, problem solving ability, and initiative in performing and completing tasks
- Willingness to attend trainings and acquire all certifications required for the position
