Irrigation Manager (Hands‑On, Senior-Level)

Integrated Turf Care is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Irrigation Manager to lead our irrigation operations across commercial properties. This role combines leadership, technical expertise, customer communication, and hands‑on repair work. The ideal candidate is a senior-level irrigation professional who can manage field teams, oversee system performance, and personally execute complex diagnostics and repairs when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Lead, train, and mentor irrigation technicians; ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to company standards.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee daily workflow, including service calls, repairs, installations, and inspections.
- Coordinate materials, equipment, and vehicle readiness for all irrigation operations.
- Maintain accurate timesheets, service logs, inventory records, and job documentation.
- Support the development and implementation of irrigation policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Customer Communication & Service
- Serve as the primary point of contact for irrigation-related service requests.
- Communicate clearly with clients, provide updates, and ensure all work meets customer expectations.
- Prepare and present repair recommendations, estimates, and system improvement options.
- Promote water conservation best practices and educate clients on system efficiency.
Technical Field Work (Hands-On)
- Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial irrigation systems.
- Locate and repair valves, wiring faults, broken lines, and malfunctioning components.
- Install new irrigation systems, including piping, manifolds, valves, controllers, and wiring.
- Program and optimize controllers from all major manufacturers, including seasonal adjustments.
- Conduct system activations, inspections, and performance testing.
- Load, unload, and operate tools, equipment, and materials safely and efficiently.
- Maintain service vehicle inventory and ensure tools are in proper working condition.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of irrigation technician experience, including advanced diagnostics and repair.
- Prior experience leading crews or managing field teams strongly preferred.
- Clean and valid driver’s license.
- Strong understanding of commercial irrigation systems, hydraulics, electrical troubleshooting, and water management.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and irrigation-specific diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to operate a UTV or similar equipment for site mobility.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
Skills & Competencies
- Expert-level troubleshooting of electrical and hydraulic irrigation issues.
- Ability to diagnose and repair valves, solenoids, wiring faults, broken pipes, and controller failures.
- Strong planning and coordination skills for daily operations.
