Join a trusted, regionally based commercial landscape maintenance and snow management company serving the Washington, DC Metro area since 1990. The company prides itself on a supportive "family" culture where team members tend to stay for the long term. It offers a stable, year-round environment and invests heavily in technology—utilizing a serious tech stack including Aspire software—to ensure its team has the support needed to succeed.
The employer is seeking a relationship-focused Landscape Account Manager to serve as the primary advisor for a portfolio of high-end residential and commercial clients. This role is ideal for a "people person" who is looking for a career home with genuine advancement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, focusing on retention, satisfaction, and open communication.
- Sales & Growth: Hit sales goals for new business, manage contract renewals, and identify enhancement opportunities.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct site visits to ensure service quality meets contract standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Estimating & Proposals: Prepare and present proposals and budgets using the Aspire software system. Note: The system is automated to assist with estimates, so pinpoint manual estimation accuracy is not required, though knowledge of landscaping tasks (like shrub trimming) is helpful.
- Snow Operations: Participate in mandatory winter operations during snow events. This may involve field work or acting as a dispatcher in the highly systematized 24-hour operations center (operating on 12-hour shifts during events).
Qualifications
- Horticulture Knowledge: Must possess "medium-level" knowledge of plants and horticulture (e.g., ability to distinguish between a maple and an oak tree).
- Tech Savvy: Must be highly comfortable with technology and computers. Experience with Aspire software is preferred, but the company is willing to train candidates with strong aptitude.
- Experience: Previous experience in B2B advisory or consultative selling is preferred. Ideally, candidates are early in their career (2nd or 3rd job).
- Team Mindset: Must be willing to "roll up your sleeves" and assist colleagues even when there is no direct commission involved.
- Education: Degree or work experience in horticulture, landscape design, landscape architecture, or related fields.
- Language: Spanish proficiency is a plus for internal team communication, though not required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $65,000 – $78,000 base salary, commensurate with experience.
- Incentives: Strong commission structure on enhancements and new business. Target total compensation (OTE) is $85k – $100k+.
- Vehicle: Company vehicle or mileage reimbursement provided.
- Health: Health Insurance (Company pays for Employee only) and Health Savings Account (HSA) with company contributions.
- Retirement: Retirement account with company match.
- Time Off: Paid holidays and PTO.
