Essential Functions:
Maintains, removes and replaces trees

Examples Of Work:
UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION
Removes dead and dangerous storm-damaged trees
Climbs trees to remove dead or diseased branches
Trims trees in parks, woodland areas, and along streets
Fells trees
Cuts trees into manageable sections and feeds limbs into a wood chipper
Grinds or removes stumps
Cuts or chops firewood
Constructs and maintains trails in woodland areas
Plants trees and sprays for insects and diseases
Assists in landscaping programs
Stocks lakes and cuts and trims grass and foliage around lake areas
Operates trucks and other motor vehicles
Performs related work
Minimum Requirements
Physical Requirement & Working Conditions:
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
Lifts and carries items weighing up to 70 pounds
Lifts and carries items weighing over 70 pounds in a team setting
Spends prolonged periods of time exposed to the elements
Minimum Requirements:
Six months of experience in the maintenance of trees or woodland areas which included climbing, trimming and felling of trees over 100 feet tall
Other Minimums:
Must possess and maintain a valid state Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) or obtain within six (6) months of employment.
