Description
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking person to join our team as a Maintenance Specialist. In this role, you will help care for Lee County’s right-of-ways by keeping grass and plants neat and well-maintained. If you enjoy working outdoors and take pride in keeping areas clean and tidy, this could be a great job for you!
Duties and Responsibilities
What You Will Do
- Mow, trim, and care for turf areas to keep them looking clean and safe.
- Edging, weeding, and other basic landscaping tasks to keep outdoor areas neat.
- Use lawn equipment such as push mowers, riding mowers, zero-turn mowers, trimmers, edgers, pickup trucks, and trailers.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance like checking oil, sharpening blades, and fixing small issues.
- Follow all safety rules when using equipment and working in public areas.
- Wear proper safety gear at all times.
- Communicate well with supervisors and team members.
- Report equipment problems or areas that need extra attention.
- Plan and finish mowing and maintenance tasks on time to keep work on schedule.
Education, Experience, Licensing
What We're Looking For
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to:
- High School diploma or GED
- At least six months of maintenance experience or experience in a related field
Licensing Requirements
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Supplemental Information
Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Retirees of the Investment Plan are eligible for renewed membership in the Investment Plan only. FRS reemployment rules apply for both.
