Position Summary
We are seeking a results-driven General Manager of Dealer Rental Operations to lead and grow our rental operations across multiple locations, including Stockton, Sacramento, Fresno, Merced, and Reno, NV.
This role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability across the rental business. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, financial acumen, and industry expertise in rental construction or agricultural equipment, along with the ability to scale operations and develop high-performing teams.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring regular travel between locations and active engagement with customers, teams, and equipment operations.

Key Responsibilities
Financial & Operational Leadership
- Drive the rental department’s growth, efficiently, and profitability across all locations
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance (P&L)
- Monitor KPIs including fleet utilization, ROI, revenue growth, and margins
- Analyze rental trends and adjust pricing, fleet mix, and strategies accordingly
- Oversee fleet lifecycle management (roll-in / roll-out decisions)
- Partner with executive leadership on equipment purchasing and disposition
- Maintain accurate inventory records for equipment and attachments.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop rental coordinators and local teams
- Partner with Store Managers to align rental operations with branch goals
- Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management
- Train staff on systems, processes, compliance, and customer service standards
Customer & Business Development
- Drive revenue growth through proactive sales and customer engagement
- Develop strategies to expand market share and customer base
- Conduct regular visits to branches, customer sites, and job sites
- Resolve escalated customer concerns and ensure high satisfaction
Administrative & Process Management
- Ensure accuracy in billing, contracts, and rental documentation
- Oversee compliance with insurance, damage waivers, and anti-theft protocols
- Partner with accounting on billing, collections, and asset tracking
- Utilize reporting tools to identify missed opportunities and improve performance
Technical & Field Engagement
- Maintain working knowledge of rental fleet equipment and applications
- Support teams and customers with technical problem-solving
- Assist in field or operational activities as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience managing rental operations
- Proven experience managing P&L, budgets, KPIs, and team performance
- Experience in construction, agricultural, or compact equipment industry strongly preferred
- Valid driver’s license with ability to travel frequently
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing multi-location operations
- Familiarity with CRM and dealer management systems (CDK/IntelliDealer, etc.)
- Strong understanding of rental fleet utilization and lifecycle management

Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $100,000 – $115,000 annually (DOE)
