Role Description The Outside Territory Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Knoxville, TN, responsible for managing and growing a defined sales territory. This position involves prospecting and visiting current and potential customers, presenting equipment solutions, and conducting equipment demonstrations to address project needs. The role includes preparing quotes, negotiating pricing within company guidelines, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and service support. The Outside Territory Manager will maintain regular contact with customers, provide product education, monitor market trends, and represent Contractors Machinery Inc. at industry events and trade shows. The individual will also be accountable for meeting sales targets, maintaining accurate records in the CRM system, and upholding the company’s customer-first standards.
Qualifications
- Strong Sales Operations and Customer Service skills to manage the territory, build relationships, and support clients effectively.
- Effective Communication skills, both verbal and written, to present equipment solutions, conduct demonstrations, and collaborate with internal teams.
- Analytical Skills and Business Planning abilities to understand market trends, develop territory strategies, and meet sales targets.
- Previous experience in outside sales, preferably in construction equipment or related industries.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment applications and an ability to learn product specifications quickly.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly within the assigned territory.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and basic office software.
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in business, marketing, or a related field is beneficial.
