Lead Estimator - Industrial Landscaping & Civil Construction
This pivotal Lead Estimator role is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and successfully bidding on large-scale industrial landscaping projects. The Lead Estimator drives high-stakes estimating for reclamation, Right of Way (ROW) repair, hydroseeding, and drill seeding initiatives. Additionally, this position acts as a department lead, mentoring a Junior Estimator to ensure brand consistency and accuracy across the residential and design divisions.

Responsibilities
- Drive industrial bidding efforts by performing take-offs and assembling comprehensive bid packages for projects involving mine reclamation, highway ROW, and utility corridors.
- Calculate precise material quantities for drill seeding rates, hydroseeding mulch, and erosion control supplies based on specific soil requirements and project specs.
- Manage vendor relations by negotiating with seed suppliers, nurseries, and equipment rental companies to secure highly competitive pricing.
- Execute on-site evaluations across Utah and neighboring states to accurately assess terrain, soil conditions, and site access prior to bidding.
- Ensure all submitted bids strictly comply with standards mandated by the company, industry, and relevant governing bodies.
- Mentor and lead the Junior Estimator to promote continuous growth and precision within the landscape design and install division.
Requirements
- Bring 5+ years of dedicated estimating experience within the landscaping or civil construction sectors.
- Possess deep technical knowledge of native Utah seed mixes, land reclamation techniques, and heavy equipment production rates (e.g., tractors, hydroseeders).
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in takeoff and estimating software such as PropertyIntel, LMN, or similar applications.
- Exhibit advanced Microsoft Excel skills for accurate bid formulation and data analysis.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Utah S330 Landscaping Contractor license requirements.
- Showcase familiarity with compliance mandates required when partnering with large infrastructure, energy, and industrial organizations.
