Landscape Architect / Designer + Project Manager

Telluric Landscapes is a women-owned design/build studio creating beautiful, functional outdoor spaces from concept drawings through final construction. We work on distinctive residential projects across Marin, Napa, and Sonoma, and we’re looking for a designer who loves both the big picture and the technical details.
We’re hiring a Landscape Architect / Designer + Project Manager who can move confidently between design, documentation, and construction coordination. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating, drawing, problem-solving, client communication, and seeing thoughtful design become a built reality.
What you’ll do
- Lead and support projects from schematic design through construction.
- Design full landscape plan sets and 3D renderings in Vectorworks.
- Measure sites, work from surveys and field data, and develop accurate site plans.
- Create planting plans, hardscape layouts, grading, drainage, irrigation, lighting, and utility coordination drawings.
- Prepare permit documents for city and county review.
- Collaborate with clients, subs, architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Attend site meetings, track action items, and help keep projects moving.
- Assist with material selection, takeoffs, budgeting, and construction coordination.
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years of experience drafting and designing landscape plan sets.
- Strong Vectorworks skills and comfort with 3D drafting/rendering (CAD skills are transferable)
- Solid knowledge of planting design, irrigation systems, and construction details.
- Experience with permitting, construction documentation, and project coordination.
- Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.
- Advanced Google Sheets/Excel skills.
- A design sensibility that has a refined aesthetic and is also practical, buildable and detail-oriented.
- We’re especially interested in candidates who can design like a builder and build like a designer.
Nice to have
- Experience working in a design/build environment.
- Familiarity with construction administration and site observation.
- Comfort working directly with clients and field teams.
- Interest in learning new workflows or software if needed.
Compensation and benefits
- Salary: $93,600–$114,400, depending on experience and skill set.
