Our client is seeking a Plant Health Care (PHC) Technician to support their expanding portfolio of luxury properties. The primary objective of this role is to accurately diagnose plant health issues, apply precise treatments, and provide outstanding communication to clients and estate staff. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat health issues affecting trees, shrubs, and turf, including insects, diseases, and abiotic stress.
- Apply fertilizers, pesticides, biologicals, and other specialized treatments accurately and safely.
- Operate, manage, and maintain spray rigs, trucks, and all application equipment to the highest standards.
- Prepare and maintain detailed, DEC-compliant reports for all daily activities.
- Engage professionally with homeowners, estate managers, and property staff to build trust through dependable service.
- Identify plant health issues early and make proactive recommendations to protect the landscape.
- Take ownership of your route and outcomes, working independently while communicating effectively with the team.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid NYS DEC 3A Pesticide Applicator License.
- 5–10+ years of experience in plant health care, arboriculture, or a related field.
- Strong diagnostic skills and a high comfort level with spray rig operations and equipment upkeep.
- A clean driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Highly organized, dependable, safety-oriented, and capable of maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Experience working on high-end residential properties and an ISA Certified Arborist designation are strongly preferred.
- A humble, self-motivated, and coachable mindset with a desire to mentor others and embrace hands-on leadership.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $80,000–$100,000 annually (based on experience).
