We are a well respected landscape company located in Stamford, Connecticut, with over 40 years in business. We are seeking an experienced Licensed Turf & Ornamental Applicator to join our professional team. This position is seasonal but can made to full-time for the right candidate.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of horticulture practices, turf and ornamental care, landscape maintenance, and the safe handling of chemicals. The most important part of this role is proper fertilizer application to turf areas. This position offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic environment, contributing to the beautification and health of various properties.
Responsibilities
- Safely and properly apply fertilizer to residential turf and ornamental chemicals using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Spray weeds in turf areas.
- Apply insecticides and fungicides to turf, ornamentals and ground cover.
- Safely operate and maintain application equipment.
- Follow all state regulations, and safety protocols/ standards related to chemical application and equipment operation.
- Conduct routine inspections of landscapes for pests, diseases, or other issues requiring treatment.
- Maintain detailed records of applications.
- Provide professional, high quality service to clients.
Qualifications / Skills
- Minimum 3-5+ years of experience in turf and ornamental applications.
- Valid Connecticut Applicators License (required).
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (required).
- Strong knowledge of turf care, weed control and pest management.
- Good physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Dependable, detail oriented, and ability to to operate equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily routes.
What We Offer
- Competitive hourly or salary compensation at $60,000 - $80,000 based on experience and performance. Possibly more for the right candidate.
