We’re looking for a Grower Manager to join our award-winning team of growers. In this role you’ll oversee all aspects of greenhouse operations, ensuring high-quality plant production, optimal crop readiness, and efficient management of the greenhouse environment. This role involves leading a team of assistant growers, providing training and support to maintain healthy crops while implementing effective pest and disease management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Propagation: Manage propagation processes, including adjusting greenhouse air and soil temperatures, boom mist settings, humidity, fertility, and organizing crops based on mist and plant growth regulator requirements.
Crop Management: Oversee all stages of plant growth to ensure high quality and harvest readiness, monitoring plant health and making necessary adjustments.
Environmental Control: Regulate greenhouse conditions (temperature, humidity, light, and ventilation) to optimize plant growth, while implementing energy-efficient and sustainable practices. Ensure facilities and equipment operate efficiently.
Pest and Disease Management: Monitor and control insect infestations and diseases, developing and implementing integrated pest management strategies to minimize crop loss and maintain plant health.
Crop Placement: Strategically plan and execute crop placement to maximize space utilization and ensure optimal growing conditions for each plant variety.
Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and train assistant growers to enhance their skills and foster a collaborative, productive work environment.
Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of crop progress, environmental conditions, pest management, and staff activities to track performance, improve crop timing, and refine production recipes.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular plant inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards, promptly addressing any issues related to plant health or quality.
Collaboration: Work closely with production and quality control to coordinate crop placement, scheduling, and product readiness.
