The Opportunity

Our client seeks a Business Development Manager -a driven, relationship-oriented business developer with deep NYC network equity. This is a pure hunter role: no account management, no RFP mills, no public bids. Your mission is to generate $5–6M+ in annual revenue through mid-sized, high-quality design/build projects (typically $200K–$400K, up to $2M).

This is a ground-floor opportunity to build and own the sales function for one of NYC’s most exciting firms in the outdoor design/build space.

The Company

A fast-growing, entrepreneurial design-build landscaping firm based in the New York metro area specializing in high-end exterior and interior environments, including:

Rooftops, terraces, and green roofs
Office and corporate amenity spaces
High-end residential and cultural institutions
Specialty carpentry, masonry, planters, and irrigation systems
Full-service maintenance and seasonal displays

They contain a strong operational backbone and the ability to deploy up to 50 field staff, combining boutique-level craftsmanship with the scale and performance of a major contractor, without the bureaucracy or red tape (they are a family-owned business).

What You’ll Do

Identify and pursue new business opportunities across commercial, cultural, and high-end residential markets.
Build and leverage relationships with owners’ reps, GCs/CMs, developers, CRE and residential brokers, interior designers, and hospitality/corporate planners.
Conduct in-person meetings, walkthroughs, and pitches to generate consistent deal flow.
Collaborate with estimating and operations teams to deliver accurate proposals and seamless project handoffs.
Develop go-to-market strategies and own the revenue growth roadmap for the NYC region.

What We’re Looking For (Must-haves):

Proven ability to close $5M+ annually through relationship-driven sales.
Established NYC network in CRE, GC/CM, luxury residential, or related industries.
Independent, motivated, and self-directed.
Strong deal discipline - follow-up, pipeline management, and consistent closings.
Comfortable identifying off-market opportunities (not waiting for RFPs).
Confident communicator who thrives in face-to-face environments.

Compensation
