The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a key team member of JML Landscape Management’s success. BDM’s are responsible for growing commercial landscape maintenance within their designated territories. BDM’s are exclusively responsible for all aspects of outside sales including relationship targeting, prospecting, sales opportunities development, conversions and revenue growth being sure to align all efforts with JML’s defined sales strategy and client verticals.

BDM’s work in collaboration with Client Relations leadership and branch operations for target qualification, needs assessments and relationship alignments to ensure the best outcome for all stakeholders through startup transition.

Territory: This role will primarily support our expanding operations in the areas northwest of Pittsburgh and extend into Eastern Ohio. As part of our continued growth, this territory represents a key strategic focus for client development, operational support, and market expansion.

Job Duties:

Focused effort on generation of leads and opportunities including prospecting, qualifications, influencing and conversion into new business.
- Includes market research, cold calling, networking.
Drive qualified market opportunities, pipeline activity, increase revenue
- Maintain a conversion rate of 20% or greater in accordance with yearly objectives
Develop/collaborate with market and branch leadership strategic sales plans to obtain short and long-term growth.
Work in conjunction with required departments including Estimation and Finance for costing and work-flow requirements.
Develop/create client presentation/proposal addressing client “key-wins” and potential “red-flags”.
Manage and routinely publish key sales metrics utilizing designated CRM and reporting requirements.
- Follow up through close tracking all activity and end results details.
Participate in training sessions to enhance selling skills.
Provide Sales support to market and branch leadership as requested to support/improve team selling opportunities, referrals and “same store” growth.

Requirements:

Effective communication skills at all levels of an organization including the executive level
Extensive face-to-face selling experience at the mid to senior level executives
Highly competitive, positive, and results driven character
Highly organized task management
Independent accountability and self-motivated
5+ years of sales experience in strategic sales
Experience with CRM software programs including MS Office Suite (Work, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
Experience in the service industry selling large value commercial contracts
Commercial real estate desired, but not required
Local market knowledge, established credibility and existing network – strongly preferred
Property management, procurement, economic decision makers
Experience with CRM software and sales reporting – Aspire Preferred but not required
Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing preferred
