Job Summary:

A&B Landscaping is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Landscaper to join our team. This salaried position requires a strong understanding of landscaping practices, the proven ability to lead a team effectively through clear and concise communication, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results. The Lead Landscaper will be responsible for overseeing daily landscaping tasks, ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining efficient workflow on job sites, and acting as a key communication link between the Operations Manager, management, and the landscaping team. This role demands excellent interpersonal skills to both provide clear direction to the team and to effectively receive and relay information across different levels of the organization.

Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise a small team of landscaping crew members, providing clear guidance, instruction, and motivation through effective verbal and written communication.
Perform a variety of landscaping tasks, including but not limited to:
- Mowing, trimming, and edging lawns
- Planting flowers, shrubs, and trees
- Mulching and weeding garden beds
- Spring and fall clean-up activities
Operating and maintaining various landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.) safely and effectively.
Ensure all work is completed to A&B Landscaping's high standards of quality and efficiency.
Communicate effectively and proactively with team members, the Operations Manager, and management regarding project progress, challenges, and any issues that may arise.
Receive guidance and information from the Operations Manager and translate this into clear and actionable instructions for the team.
Act as a point of contact for the team, relaying information to management and providing updates as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including equipment and vehicles.
Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
Assist with loading and unloading equipment and materials.
Provide excellent customer service and represent A&BLandscaping professionally on job sites.
Train and mentor junior team members as needed.
Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of professional landscaping experience.
Demonstrated experience leading and directing a team with a strong emphasis on clear and effective communication.
Strong knowledge of landscaping techniques, plant care, and equipment operation.
Ability to operate and maintain various landscaping equipment safely and efficiently.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with team members, management, and clients.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Fluency in both English and Spanish is a plus.

Compensation:

Rate: Starting at $45,000 per year, but commensurate with experience.

Benefits:

Paid time off including holidays, vacation, and sick time.
Full Year employment, no lay off period.
