Performs professional landscape architecture and engineering related work in the planning and design of park construction and redevelopment.

Examples Of Job Functions

Plans and designs landscapes and facilities for City park construction or redevelopment.
Studies parks and park sites to determine landscaping requirements.
Prepares designs and detailed blueprints, specifications, and cost estimates for both construction and maintenance.
Conducts surveys, and prepares statistical studies and reports regarding anticipated park needs, and coordinates with other departments concerned with long-range planning.
Reviews and approves landscape plans for project work by various City departments.
Advises and provides technical supervision on park improvement projects by civic and service organizations.
Supervises construction and grounds maintenance projects to ensure consistency with the design's intent.
Speaks before various civic groups on maintenance and park topics.
Participates with community groups in the coordination of projects from design through implementation.
Performs related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Licenses & Certificates:
- Applicants must possess a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility.
- Applicants must possess a recognized certificate of registration as a Landscape Architect. Applicants licensed in other states must have ability to obtain reciprocal licensure in Washington within six months of employment.

Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications and pass the examination for this position to be eligible for hire.

EXAMINATION DETAILS:

This is an online examination and will require a computer. If you do not have access to a computer, please notify Civil Service so that one may be provided. Reservations can also be made through your local, public library.

Training and Experience examination links with instructions will be emailed prior to 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time on the start date and will expire at 11:59 p.m. on the due date as listed below. Keep in mind that the test link will be emailed from City of Spokane (info@governmentjobs.com).
