Position HighlightsThe University Facility Services Grounds Services department is looking for a Landscape Chemical Applicator to join our team. This position will set up and operate hand and power spray equipment along with applying fertilizer and other nutrients. Duties & Responsibilities
- Sets up and operates hand and power spray equipment to apply pre-emergent herbicides, selective and non-selective post emergent herbicides on landscape areas.
- Applies fertilizer and other nutrients in liquid and solid forms.
- Applies growth regulators to plant material.
- Installs, adjusts and performs minor repairs on application equipment.
- Maintains work area, chemical storage area and equipment in a condition that promotes good safety practices and in compliance with OSHA, State of Arizona Office of Pest Management and UofA Risk Management.
- Performs IPM inspections scouting for pests.
- May assist in the upkeep of the grounds.
- Installs plant material.
- Assists with minor irrigation repairs.
- Hand water new plant material.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Valid State of Arizona Certified Applicators license with Turf and Ornamental certification.
- Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety ReportIn compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University’s campuses.
