All staff are OSHA-10 safety certified and have background clearances to work at all public facilities and schools. Our staff qualifications include landscape architects, certified arborists, licensed pesticide applicators, and National Green Infrastructure Certification Program certified trainers.
The Landscape Foreman is responsible for installation and management of landscape projects, with an emphasis on green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) maintenance and light construction. The foreman is responsible for managing daily schedules, work products, and reporting; conducting and overseeing landscaping activities; and managing a crew of 1-3 landscape laborers.
Job Responsibilities
- Directs light construction and maintenance activities on the job site, including oversight of work standards and protocols.
- Manages personnel effectively and efficiently.
- Monitors all tools, equipment and machinery for needed maintenance.
- Tracks and records all labor effort, materials, tasks, and sites using mobile work order management software.
- Maintains a clean and safe job site at all times.
- Ensures that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment.
- Ensures that all crew members utilize all required personal protective equipment.
- Ensures that all equipment safety and maintenance procedures are followed.
Essential Requirements
- Degree or professional certifications in horticulture, or landscape practices preferred.
- Arborist license and/or pesticide license preferred.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with a clean record.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Experience with GSI and OSHA 10 certificate preferred. Minimum of 3 years of landscaping experience.
- Availability to work 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Excellent verbal & written communication and time management skills.
- Ability and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Familiarity with performing common landscape maintenance tasks using hand tools and power tools including string trimming, weeding, sediment and trash removal, planting, etc.
- Able to operate mobile tablet devices quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to drive truck and trailer, light machinery such as skid-steer.
- Ability to identify common landscape species planted in GSI projects, including herbaceous plants, shrubs, and trees; experience with native Pennsylvania plants preferred.
- Experience pruning trees to promote tree health and proper structural development. Prior experience with urban street trees is preferred.
- Highly motivated, self-driven individual who is detail orientated.
