Landscape Gardener. Join us in cultivating and preserving the natural beauty of our campus, ensuring an impeccable first impression for potential donors and guests. Help maintain the greenhouse and indoor plants in the buildings. Must be able to work in the elements of heat and cold.
If this sounds like the job for you, check out the essential duties and responsibilities:
- Keep our plants healthy. You’ll maintain landscape, interior scape, and greenhouse plants, and:
- Help identify and treat pest infestations and fungal infections as directed
- Operate power tools relating to mowing, edging, weeding, and blowing
- Properly mix and apply herbicides
- Diagnose nutrient deficiencies and add fertilizer as needed
- Diagnose issues in landscape (i.e. poor drainage, improper watering, incorrect light requirements, etc.)
- Report to a supervisor
- Keep our landscaping looking pretty. You’ll perform essential plant and landscape bed care tasks:
- Trim and prune plants to ensure healthy growth and proper plant appearance throughout the campus
- Remove dead, damaged, or unwanted branches from trees
- Remove degraded or dead plants as required
- Properly plant new plants as directed
- Remove and reapply mulch in planting beds
- Identify weeds and remove them in all landscaped beds
Education And/or Experience Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Basic plant knowledge for pruning and caring for plants.
