Hours are primarily Monday through Friday, but responsibilities may occasionally require additional hours and flexibility that can include weekends.
Position Description
Duties will be assigned by the Grounds Coordinator and will include the following:
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and monitor campus irrigation system. Design and installation of new irrigation systems.
- Document relevant irrigation plans and changes.
- Perform minor maintenance and repairs of grounds equipment.
- Perform routine grounds keeping tasks including, but not limited to, digging, hand mowing, string trimming, tractor mowing, riding mower mowing, pruning, plant bed preparation, and planting of trees, shrubs, and other plants.
- Physical motions include but are not limited to the following: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, grasping, bending, squatting, going up and down stairs, continuous standing and walking, and any combination of the preceding.
- Proper usage of LeTourneau University supplied chemicals.
- Proper usage of safety equipment supplied by LeTourneau University.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years current experience in all phases of sprinkler system maintenance, repairs and installation preferred.
- Possess the certification of a Texas licensed irrigator or have the ability to acquire this certification within the first 12 months of employment.
- Applicants must be age 18 or older.
- Texas Driver License with acceptable driving record required.
- Work is physically demanding, and the applicant must be able to work in various weather extremes.
